Don't worry Chris, the grip frame and all mechanicals are new, the bore and each chamber are good, it's only the patina that makes it so ugly, and I think I want to keep it that way, after all, she is almost as ugly as I am, but she is in much better shape. All you have to worry about is the franken-ruger transplant, truing up the chambers and maybe lightening the trigger, all the easy stuff

Grime??? Come on Chris, when you say grime it makes it sound old and worn out, I prefer the word "Patina" that makes it sound classically weathered
Actually the first time I saw the pic of the franken-ruger I thought it looked like a Hollywood movie gun, that is a idea I would like to capitalize on with the Blackhawk, think Apocalyptic Cowboy Zombie Sci-Fi, basically a gun that was put together from available parts. Now don't get me wrong, I love my beautiful guns with rich bluing and gorgeous wood, but there is something in me that wants to do a fantasy gun, but a fantasy gun that not only works but shoots lights out at long range.
Here is a little inspiration for the feel of the build, I'm not talking about a total build such as these, just the Blackhawk frame with the franken-ruger conversion, scope rail on the shroud and a big butt grip from Hogue, just a basic build that has the fantasy air to it.
